Website Design Tips

Eyeballs appreciate a well-designed, user-friendly website. If you can find what you’re looking for and enjoy spending time on a website, you’re more likely to return to that site.

Whether we design your site for you or you design your own, there are a few things you should keep in mind to give your design some extra appeal. Here are some basic website design tips to get you started.

Colors

Choosing a color scheme is an important part of any design. Color has a great impact on the emotion people feel when they visit a website. As a general rule, using 3 to 4 coordinating colors is a good place to start. One contrasting color should be used as an accent to call attention to important elements.

Pictures

Including images relevant to your business on your site is very important. They provide visual interest and break up large areas of text. Adding a picture or two to a blog post can make it more memorable.

Navigation

Keep your site’s navigation menu simple and straight forward, or your users may get lost within your pages, give up, and never come back! Organize similar items into dropdown menus and provide “breadcrumb” links so users can backtrack if necessary.
